Cycling to fight children’s cancer – Epassi is a gold sponsor for Team Rynkeby Espoo.

The European charity project Team Rynkeby continues its annual cycling tours to raise funds for the treatment of children’s critical illnesses. Epassi is a gold sponsor for the charity cycling team Team Rynkeby Espoo that is set to cycle to Paris on the 7th of July 2023. The funds will be donated to Aamu Foundation and Sylva, organizations that support critically ill children and their families.

According to the Aamu Foundation, around 150 children are diagnosed with cancer every year in Finland. Research work is demanding and treatments are developed constantly. The traditional cycling tour is arranged for the 23rd time already, and Epassi is supporting the project for the first time as a gold sponsor.

"The diagnosis changes the whole family's life, which makes the development of treatments extremely valuable. Team Rynkeby reminds us all that we can help others through joy. We are very proud to be part of this project." says Niklas Löfgren, Epassi’s CEO in Finland.

In 2022, Team Rynkeby donated a total of 10.4 million euros to organizations helping critically ill children. The impact is also visible in Finland, where funds are donated to two organizations: the Aamu Foundation, which supports cancer research and treatment development, and Sylva, which provides psychosocial support for children and their families.

"Team Rynkeby's way of helping others inspires people to invest even in their own well-being. By inspiring people to lead an active lifestyle, for example, we are helping to create a better future." Löfgren continues.

The cycling event is made possible by the combined efforts of almost 3 000 participants from nine different countries. Each country is further divided into smaller local teams. In Finland, there are teams starting from e.g. Helsinki and Oulu in addition to Espoo.

Unified by the important cause, the energetic and dedicated cyclists of Team Rynkeby cycle to Paris in five days. For the Finnish teams, the journey is approximately 1 200 km long. You can follow along their journey on social media, where Epassi will be cheering on Team Espoo all the way to the finish line!
